Candidates for the Doctor of Chiropractic degree must first complete their four-year undergraduate degree which must include all of the basic sciences such as anatomy & physiology, chemistry, physics and organic chemistry. After completing their undergraduate degree, they must then complete the four to five year doctoral program of chiropractic science. The candidate must successfully pass 4 National Board Examinations as well as the State Board Examination in order to receive a license to practice chiropractic.
Chiropractors are also required to continue their postdoctoral education every year in order to renew their state licenses.
