MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) GRADUATES' RETREAT

This silent retreat is designed for those who have graduated from one or more of our Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) classes or for those who have a well-established mindfulness meditation practice.

While maintaining noble silence, we will engage in the 4 formal practices of mindfulness (body scan, sitting meditation, mindful movement (yoga) and lovingkindness meditation. We will engage in each of the formal practices for about 30-35 minutes as well as enjoy a mindful eating exercise and a walking meditation. Afterward, we will have time for tea and light snacks while we share our experiences. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion as well. Please plan to join us! Cost: $45.00

ONE-DAY MINDFULNESS WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS

This mindfulness training course is for beginners and is designed for those who would like to develop a regular mindfulness practice. It is also a good “warm up” for those considering either the three-week or eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses.

We will introduce the “Attitudes of Mindfulness” as well as the formal and informal practices of mindfulness. We will also begin learning how to incorporate mindfulness into our daily lives – especially during stressful times! There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion. We look forward to having you join us for class!

THREE-WEEK CLASS MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)

This three week course is designed for beginners and those who are new to the practice of mindfulness. It would also serve well as a "refresher" course for those who wish to re-establish a regular mindfulness practice. The three-week format of this course will also allow participants time to practice mindfulness "homework" assignments between the weekly sessions.

EIGHT-WEEK CLASS MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)

  • Saturday Mornings: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
  • Cost of the eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course: $375.00

(Cost includes an orientation with Dr. Chapman, sixteen hours of classroom instruction, a 6-hour silent retreat, the course workbook, 4 homework CDs and access to our mindfulness library.)

It is not intended that cost should be a barrier for anyone who is strongly motivated to join the course. Payment plans can be arranged in advance. Alternative payment options may also be considered. Payments can be made with cash, check, Mastercard or Visa.

Additional workshops can be tailored to meet the specific needs of different groups, organizations or employers. Please call the office for more information.

Our Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Courses are modeled on the work of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. With almost thirty years of research supporting its effectiveness, Dr. Kabat-Zinn's groundbreaking work is now taught in hospitals, clinics, universities and research centers around the world. Our MBSR courses and workshops are designed to introduce participants to the concepts of mindful living. Participants learn to more skillfully engage with the stresses and challenges of every day life as well as more fully enjoy moments of joy and celebration.
